Tune In Tuesday: Covers Part Three (String)

tune in tuesday

Tune In Tuesday is hosted by Kate’s Tales of of Books and Bands and was created by G Reads. September is all about covers and so far I’ve focused on both songs and bands. This week I’ll be featuring all string covers. I never thought I would be into listening to a string performance, but these covers are amazing and I listen to them all the time.

This is the cover that made me fall in love with string covers. I’m so amazed by these two musicians and I hope to see them live. YouTube then suggested this amazing string rendition of a One Republic song:

It’s beautiful, but so much so that I am a little embarrassed to admit that my favorite string cover is…

Yes that’s right. The String Quartet did an entire album tribute to Sum 41 and it is the best album I own.

Okay… is it just me, or did anybody else think of Sam and Dean (oh Supernatural!) battling it out during that Smooth Criminal performance? Seriously, though… that’s what my mind kept referencing… those two looked kind of like them. Not a bad reference.

On a more serious note, I’m a sucker for strings. That OneRepublic cover is SO GORGEOUS! Oh my word, I love it. It even gave me chills!! The Sum 41 one kind of weirded out my mind. It’s good, I just wasn’t expecting it at all! lol. Thanks for sharing this fun tracks!

I am such a fan of the Smooth Criminal cover. Someone suggested it to me some time ago and I fell in love. I always wanted to play a string instrument but since I have zero musical talent, I will have to live vicariously through those musicians. Also, the OneRepublic cover is simply gorgeous. Great picks this week!

SUCH cool covers, especially “Smooth Criminal”! If I were to pick up another instrument, it would probably be the cello. Also, the Sum 41 cover is making me giggle as I type this!

That Smooth Criminal cover was really cool! I kind of always wanted to play the violin, but I tried guitar in high school and I wanted to just magically know how to play well without practicing. Needless to say, that didn’t happen! 😉
